Off the Arena
Growing up in Gillette, Wyoming, Hayden Welsh was introduced to the world of rodeo at a young age, with his father Bobby Welsh qualifying for the National Finals Rodeo seven times. Hayden's early experiences at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo, where his father competed, left a lasting impression on him. He recalls being snuck into the event as an 8 or 9-year-old and getting to pull his dad's bull rope.
Hayden's hometown of Gillette, with its strong ranching roots, provided the perfect environment for him to hone his skills. His family's involvement in the sport and the local rodeo scene helped shape his passion for bull riding. As he grew older, Hayden's dedication to training and competing led him to become a skilled rider.
This season, Hayden has been making a name for himself, currently ranking #4 in the standings with $73,100 in earnings.
As he looks to the future, Hayden remains focused on his goals, but also appreciates the journey, recognizing the blessings and opportunities that have brought him to where he is today.
