Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission takes emergency action to protect horses
The Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission has issued an Emergency Protective Order after observing an abnormal pattern of severe post-race distress in 171 horses. These horses are now ineligible to compete until they undergo mandatory testing, veterinary examinations, and regulatory review to ensure their safe and humane participation. Interim Executive Director Amanda English affirmed the commission's commitment to immediate intervention to protect equine welfare and secure evidence.
