BHSU’s Husted wins goat tying at Jackrabbit Stampede
Black Hills State University's Haley Husted won the goat tying event at the Jackrabbit Stampede. The BHSU women's rodeo team tied for fifth place overall, highlighted by Husted's win and Capri Cammack's second-place finish in barrel racing. The men's team placed eighth, with Luke Mavity securing a top-5 finish and Mickey Strawn an eighth-place finish in tie down roping.

Colorado: State land board lesser prairie chicken plan approved
Dallas May, a Prowers County rancher and the Colorado representative for the Lesser Prairie Chicken Landowners Alliance, offered public comment after the Colorado State Land Board moved and seconded a motion to approve the staff-authored LPC Plan last week at their meeting, which was ultimately approved unanimously. May said his ranch, which is home to LPC habitat, wouldn’t exist were it not for cattle production.
