Remembering Dick Yates: 1937–2026
Rodeo legend, master horseman, and family patriarch Dick Yates has passed away peacefully in Pueblo just shy of his 89th birthday. He is remembered for his deep dedication to his family and his successful team roping career, which included competing alongside his son, JD Yates, and daughter, Kelly Yates, at the NFR. His legacy continues through his family's multi-generational rodeo achievements, including his grandson Trey Yates's NFR success.
