The 2026 ProRodeo season is past its halfway point. Pressure mounts for barrel racers chasing a spot in the Wrangler NFR. The lucrative Cowboy Christmas run is on the horizon. The race for the top 15 is tightening, especially at the bubble.
Morgan Bagnell sits at No. 13 in the world standings with $41,074. She is from Heath, Texas. Bagnell also leads the Resistol Rookie standings. Her early season success includes a win in Clovis, California aboard her mare Couldawoodashoulda. Barrel Horse News reported her win in Clovis bumped her to No. 21. Michelle Alley made a big move to No. 6 after a win at the San Angelo Stock Show Rodeo. Alley, aboard Lipstick and Stilletos, placed second in the first round, won the semi-finals, placed second in the finals, and won the aggregate.
Lindsey Muggli is at No. 14, earning $39,520. Muggli is from Lane, Oklahoma.
Julia Johnson of Tenino, Washington, is currently ranked No. 15 with $39,198.
Julie Plourde from Krum, Texas, is at No. 16. Plourde has $38,326 in earnings.
The summer run includes major events like the Reno Rodeo. Cheyenne Frontier Days and Salinas follow. Cowboy Christmas begins the week of July 4. This period presents a concentrated series of high-paying rodeos across the West. These weeks are crucial for riders to impact the standings before the Cinch Playoffs in Sioux Falls and the final push toward the NFR in December.
The margins at the bottom of the NFR qualifying positions mean every run, every rodeo, and every dollar earned will be critical. The competition among Bagnell, Muggli, Johnson, and Plourde is intensifying.
