Noah Lee has been the most consistent bull rider of the winter
Lee marked 93 on Pete Carr's Smokey Joe and stacked three more rides at 91, the steadiest book in the bull riding.
Noah Lee covered Pete Carr Pro Rodeo's Smokey Joe for 93 points at the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo. That ties the highest bull riding score anyone has put up this season. What sets Lee apart is that it was not a one-off.
He rode JK Rodeo's Walk of Life for 91.5 at the Wharton County Xtreme Bulls and took $10,152. He covered Smith Pro Rodeos' Hatari for 91 at Goliad, and Korkow Rodeos' White Resistol for 91 at Los Fresnos, worth $5,281. Four bulls, four scores of 91 or better, four different pens.
The other two 93s on the year came from Brady Turgeon, who rode Andrews Rodeo's All Likkered Up for $14,415 at Tuacahn, and Stetson Wright, who covered Legacy Pro Rodeo's Ain't No Joke at the Clovis Xtreme Bulls. Single big nights, both of them.
Bull riding pays the man who stays on, and staying on four rank bulls in a winter is harder than catching lightning once. Lee did the steady thing. The summer is where steady turns into a standings lead, or it does not.
